Top 5 Rarest Muscle Cars

There’s something about individuality that makes you feel special, and this is no different with cars! This is why classic car enthusiasts are constantly making changes to their vehicles whether it’s bodywork, engine tuning, or installing a new sound system! For some of us, this obsession goes beyond making changes to our vehicles, meaning that we hunt down vehicles that are so rare there was hardly any ever made! Today we’ll be introducing you to 5 of the rarest classic American cars to show you what it feels like to really be exclusive!

  1. 1970 Plymouth Hemi SuperbirdImage result for 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird

There was only ever 135 of these babies made, but the iconic futuristic design based on the highly successful Roadrunner line from the late 60s shot them to fame. With a huge 426 Hemi V8 engine capable of producing a monstrous 425hp, this car was essentially a road-legal racing car! The enormous rear wing made this car look like something from Wacky Races, but inside it was certainly all muscle!

Modeled on the previous L88 version but boosted in many areas to make it a uniquely powerful and charismatic car, the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro ZL-1 was only produced 69 times! The design was specifically made for racing, so it included an aluminum engine that saved on weight and could produce a cataclysmic 560hp! The unassuming exterior has a timeless design which has made it a particular favorite for rare classic car collectors.

  1. 1971 Pontiac GTO Judge ConvertibleImage result for 1971 Pontiac GTO Judge Convertible

While 357 Pontiac GTO Judges were sold, only 17 of those were convertibles, making this one of the rarest muscle cars out there! With a massive 455 cubic inch engine, this car roared like you wouldn’t believe, and the line was only stopped because of stricter emission standards that were brought in at the time! Having been stripped of much of the weight seen in the previous model, this car was a true speed demon!

  1. 1969 Chevrolet Corvette ZL-1

They don’t come much rarer than this! With only 3 ever made, the 1969 Chevrolet Corvette ZL-1 is so rare that when produced, it was only offered to Chevrolet employees at their Missouri plant! It’s a lightweight vehicle with a giant 427 cubic inch aluminum engine that’s capable of producing 500hp! Nowadays, these go for well over $1.5 million, and you’d be very lucky to even have the chance to buy one at all!

  1. 1970 Dodge Coronet R/T 426 Hemi Convertible

The 1970 Dodge Coronet R/T 426 Hemi Convertible is possibly the rarest muscle car to have ever existed. There were only two of the 1970 model ever made, and only one other ever made which was in 1967. It was fitted with a 426 cubic inch road and track engine, and could produce 425hp, which was plenty when you consider that this was a convertible!

Individuality is a brilliant trait. It sets us apart from everyone else in the world and gives us our unique personality – a theme that is also true for cars! It’s highly unlikely that you’ll ever get your hands on any of these models but with a little bit of work here and there, you can convert your car into a vehicle that is as unique as you are!
